A Transformative Experience with Tanyika‘s Lots of Locs Natural Hair Studio.

In June 2022, I began my Sisterlocks journey with Tanyika, and from the very first appointment, I felt a sense of hope and renewal. My crown was bald, and I was tired of relying on wigs and weaves to hide the thinning areas. Tanyika was professional, transparent about pricing, and explained in detail what this hair lifestyle would entail.

Her salon is a serene haven—clean, organized, and relaxing. Honestly, in another life, she could moonlight as an interior designer! But what truly sets her apart is the care she gives to her clients. She’s always ready when I arrive, so there’s no waiting. Her retightening technique is gentle and quick (just over an hour!), and she’s especially mindful of my sensitive crown.

While my hair hasn’t grown back entirely, thanks to the growth at the front and back, I can now hide the baldness naturally. My confidence has grown and so have my locks—all because of Tanyika’s skilled and thoughtful care. I don’t even mind driving over an hour to see her; she’s a blessing to my journey.
